The Fabric’s co-creation process is unique as it focuses on the two most important parts of a start-up: the market and the founding team. With the help of The Fabric advisors and staff, Rajan Raghavan and Prabakar Sundarrajan, co-founders of The Fabric, have identified the white space and found the entrepreneurs for every co-created company. This is the co-creation of Copperwire.
Copperwire Story – A Team of Blockchain Experts
The first step of the co-creation process is the identification of white space in the cloud and IoT infrastructure market. Constantly making headlines with cryptocurrencies, it was hard not to notice the trend of blockchain in 2018. Ashu Pande, Head of Product and Market Development at The Fabric, had a payment startup using blockchain under his belt. He was tapped by Rajan Raghavan and Prabakar Sundarajan to evaluate the use of blockchain in enterprises. Ashu refined this high-level thesis into a sustainable strategy on which a company would have the opportunity to grow.
The second step of the formation process is the search for entrepreneurs with enough expertise and interest to help build the company. This is when they came across a long-term friend, Sunil Cherian. With experience as VP of Product Marketing at Array Networks, Rajan and Prabakar knew that Sunil would be a definite candidate for this broad project. Sunil expressed interest in the idea and was tasked with finding a team. With the help of Ashu and Sunil’s own circle of entrepreneurs, the team additions consisted of Ashvin Mathew, Ashutosh Kapuskar, and Rakesh Sreekumar; all with the potent combination of expertise in enterprise solutions and the blockchain space. The team brings together leadership experience in companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, VMware, and Array Networks.
Now that the white space was identified and the entrepreneurs were found, the co-creation process moved forward. Sunil, Ashvin, Ashutosh, and Rakesh were brought on as co-founders with The Fabric and began to solidify the solution that would fit into the white space identified. This was a lengthy process as the blockchain market was so new but with the help and support from The Fabric the team initiated the formation of their company; thus Copperwire was born.
