The Fabric’s co-creation process is unique as it focuses on the two most important parts of a start-up: the market and the founding team. With the help of The Fabric advisors and staff, Rajan Raghavan and Prabakar Sundarrajan, co-founders of The Fabric, have identified the white space and found the entrepreneurs for every co-created company. This is the co-creation of OpsCruise.
OpsCruise Story – Performance Optimization within Containers
The first step of the co-creation process is the identification of white space in the cloud and IoT infrastructure market. Aloke Guha, former VP of Analytics and Big Data at Hitachi Data, knew of The Fabric through their corporate investments’ efforts. In late 2017 he pitched an idea to Rajan Raghavan and Prabakar Sundarrajan revolving around containerized application orchestration and management using a new model-based control idea. This pitch helped Rajan and Prabakar realize the market opportunity with containers and the larger and more exciting opportunity in automated performance assurance for modern cloud-native applications. Aloke was brought on as an EIR to research this thesis.
The next step was to build the team. Rajan and Prabakar socialized the thesis across their network to further validate the white space. In the process, they ran into Rajan’s former classmate Shridhar Venkatraman, former CTO at ESQ Business Services, who was looking to begin a new startup regarding systems architecture in the cloud ecosystem. Shridhar was brought on as an EIR and met Aloke. As their interests and expertise aligned, they joined efforts to create a complete solution.
With the white space identified and the entrepreneurs found, the co-creation process moved forward. With the help and support from The Fabric, Aloke and Shridhar initiated the formation of their company, and OpsCruise was born.
