The Fabric’s co-creation process is unique as it focuses on the two most important parts of a start-up: the market and the founding team. With the help of The Fabric advisors and staff, Rajan Raghavan and Prabakar Sundarrajan, co-founders of The Fabric, have identified the white space and found the entrepreneurs for every co-created company. This is the co-creation of Perspica.
Perspica Story – Merger Between AI/ML and Data Centers
The first step of the co-creation process is the identification of white space in the cloud and IoT infrastructure market. This identification began with a conversation between Rajan Raghavan, Prabakar Sundarrajan, and Sunil Potti, former VP Product Marketing at Citrix, about current trends in the market in late 2014. They discussed the virtualization of data centers and the demand for automated data recognition and Sunil suggested that they merge the two trends, creating a dynamic data center that could create recommendations based on data analysis. This was their high-level thesis. It was broad enough that a company would have the opportunity to grow but specific enough to allow for innovation.
The second step of the formation process is the search for entrepreneurs with enough expertise and interest to help build the company. They met with Rajan’s former college mate Rao Cherukuri, former founder CEO of Euclid, who loved the thesis. Knowing Rao’s skill and expertise, he was immediately brought on as an EIR and began researching. Simultaneously JF Huard, former Executive Director at Dell, had been introduced to Rajan and Prabakar as a motivated entrepreneur with expertise in data centers. JF moved from the East Coast, was brought on as an EIR, and teamed up with Rao.
Now that the white space was identified and the entrepreneurs were found, the co-creation process moved forward. Rao and JF were brought on as co-founders with The Fabric and began to solidify the solution that would fit into the white space identified. With the help and support from The Fabric Rao and JF initiated the formation of their company; thus Perspica was born.
